CyberFirst Girls Competition 2023/24

Registration is now open for the 2023/24 Girls Competition: the prestigious national cyber contest led by GCHQ’s National Cyber Security Centre

  • Schools and teachers can enrol teams now to inspire more girls to consider a future in technology and cyber security

  • This year, teachers who have previously entered teams of students into the competition are sharing their experience of taking part and encouraging students to sign up to the CyberFirst Girls Competition

  • Teachers who have previously taken part in the UK’s flagship cyber security contest are encouraging their counterparts across the nation to enter teams of schoolgirls into this year’s competition.

The 2023/2024 CyberFirst Girls Competition will see girls across the country try their hand at cracking codes, decrypting messages and solving coding puzzles. Teams must be entered by teachers of any subject, from Computer Science to Art.

The annual competition is run by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) – a part of GCHQ – and aims to introduce girls aged 12 and 13 to cyber security, with the ultimate goal of increasing diversity in the industry.

Competition Opens: 20th November
Competition Closes: 29th November
Criteria: Pupils must identify as female and be in S2 in Scotland. Maximum teams of 4 pupils.
